From March 2026, Egypt mandates conformity to updated ES 2025 standards for imported toys, swimming aids, and child care articles, with requirements based on recent European standards and detailed product test methods.

The Ministry of Industry and Transport has issued Ministerial Decrees No. 245/2025 and No. 246/2025, updating specific Egyptian Standards for a range of products, including toys, buoyant aids for swimming instruction, and child care articles.

Effective 19 March 2026, all affected products imported into Egypt must conform to the following standards:

  • ES 3123-4/2025 – Safety of Toys – Part 4: Experimental Sets for Chemistry and Related Activities
  • ES 3123-13/2025 – Safety of Toys – Part 13: Olfactory Board Games, Cosmetic Kits, and Gustative Games
  • ES 8754/2025 – Child Use and Care Articles – Carry Cots and Stands for Domestic Use – Safety Requirements and Test Methods
  • ES 7595/2025 – Child Care Articles – Drinking Equipment – Safety Requirements and Test Methods
  • ES 7670/2025 – Child Care Articles – Baby Walking Frames – Safety Requirements and Test Methods
  • ES 8117-1/2025 – Child Care Articles – Child Carriers – Safety Requirements and Test Methods – Part 1: Framed Back Carrier
  • ES 8220-1/2025 – Child Care Articles – Wheeled Child Conveyances – Part 1: Pushchairs and Prams
  • ES 8220-2/2025 – Child Care Articles – Wheeled Child Conveyances – Part 2: Pushchairs for Children Above 15 kg and Up to 22 kg
  • ES 8134/2025 – Ophthalmic Optics – Mounted Spectacle Lenses
  • ES 9109-1/2025 – Buoyant Aids for Swimming Instruction – Part 1: Safety Requirements and Test Methods for Buoyant Aids to be Worn
  • ES 9109-2/2025 – Buoyant Aids for Swimming Instruction – Part 2: Safety Requirements and Test Methods for Buoyant Aids to be Held
