Community initiative provided heat relief during challenging weather conditions
Intertek colleagues in Shenzhen, China, recently partnered with public welfare platform Shenzhen Charity Innovation Space to support frontline sanitation workers during the city's summer months.
The partnership centred around a simple idea: colleagues were invited to donate a small amount of money to purchase an ice cream. Funds raised from the ice creams were then used to purchase heat-relief and cooling supplies for sanitation workers, providing practical support during a season known for high temperatures, humidity and frequent rainfall.
The initiative recognised the important role frontline workers play in helping to keep one of China’s largest cities clean throughout the year. Through their donations, our colleagues highlighted how small acts of generosity can make a meaningful impact in local communities.
